Now in its fourth generation, O. A. Chapman & Son was founded by the late Oscar Chapman in 1922, in premises nearly adjoining the firm’s head office on Princes Street, Norwich. It is now one of the older established Chartered Surveyors in Norwich and continues to provide services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Michael Chapman son of Oscar, qualified in 1959 and after a brief spell in Surrey, joined the firm in 1961, helping establish a second office in Lowestoft and succeeding his father in 1972.

In 1989, Dermot Chapman the current Director and grandson of Oscar qualified and joined the firm after gaining experience in London and Norwich respectively. Michael took retirement in 1998 with Dermot continuing to manage both the Lowestoft and Norwich offices.

Also forming part of the team is Jeff Fuller. Jeff undertakes a consultancy role specialising in commercial and residential valuation work and Landlord and Tenant matters including residential lease extensions and collective enfranchisements. A former Director of two surveying practices in North-East London, Jeff moved to north Suffolk and joined OAC in 2001 but continues to cover North-East London, Essex and East Cambridgeshire as well as Norfolk and Suffolk.

Angus Kendall has worked with OAC since 2007 and is a Fellow Chartered Building Engineer (FCABE) and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) specialising in commercial and residential surveys and valuation work across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Fred Chapman joined the firm in 2020 after qualifying with Vospers Chartered Surveyors based in Surrey and London.

Now in its one-hundredth year, the firm’s practice continues to provide surveying services across Norfolk and Suffolk.
